Navigating Search Results on Two Monitors

By askabhi

Heavy users of Google like me tend to punch in hundreds of queries into the  tireless Google machine to harness the benefits of this information age.   well and one way to improve my user  experience would be to be able to open my  search results not just in another window but on another monitor. Every time i open any search result i need to click on open in new tab or window adding scores of tabs to my Internet explorer and i find it hard to navigate to the main results page.having the first results page always in front of you is also important when you have already opened a couple of links from the search results but are not happy with  any of them.

Then you can quickly change the keyword and type in a new query. If the main page kept a record of the queries i typed in a session it would be easy to go back and forth between queries. But since this blog post is about the wonders of using two monitors i would not deep dive into the query user interface.

the second monitor could change the game in many ways not just for search but a host of   other applications. For example mapping you could keep the main map on the first monitor and drag and drop small  portions of it on another monitor to magnify and check stuff out. You don’t have to keep struggling with the same map zooming in and out of it and loosing track of the point you started. Same goes for browsing online catalogs where your listings page is always in front of your eyes on one monitor.i bet there is incredible time savings for anyone using this approach particularly for the heavy users.
